The console on the X22i is designed to be at a steeper angle than the Commercial 2950. This angle is to accommodate the much higher incline you can achieve on the incline trainer treadmill. However, it can leave a bit of a screen glare on the display if you are under 5’3″.
With the Commercial 2950, the console is at a slight angle to make usage comfortable as you workout. Neither the Commercial 2950 nor X22i console moves due to how large the screens are so that they can remain stable as you exercise.
Motor – NordicTrack 2950 vs. NordicTrack X22i
The motor on the Commercial 2950 is larger than the motor on the X22i. Under the hood of the Commercial 2950, you get a 4.25 CHP motor, while with the X22i, there is a 4.0 CHP motor for you to use. It is interesting to see the difference, considering the X22i is likely to need a stronger motor due to the incline range, but the Commercial 2950 has the more powerful motor.
One thing you should remember is that residential electrical systems are unable to provide the level of electricity needed to reach the higher CHP levels. Because of this, the motor difference between these machines may not make as much of a difference.

A significant difference between the X22i incline trainer and the Commercial 2950 is the incline range. The X22i has a remarkable incline range, going from -6% decline to up to 40% incline. To achieve the incredible incline range, the X22i incline trainer required more stability, which means it lacks the ability to fold up. The base of this treadmill is very heavy, and the machine as a whole is about 400 pounds. So, if you don’t have space for a very large, very heavy, non-folding treadmill, then the X22i incline trainer is not for you.
That doesn’t mean that the Commercial 2950 is a lightweight. As a light commercial-grade treadmill, the Commercial 2950 is pretty heavy, but you do have the ability to fold up the deck. There are also front-mounted transport wheels, so you can tilt and move the Commercial 2950 far more easily than you can the X22i.
